25th May – Flash event
Jul 8 2011 in Uncategorized by bere:architects
This week a group including architects, project managers and developers visited Grove Road as part of the FLASH programme (see last weeks post for more information on FLASH). The feedback indicated that those who attended found it an invaluable experience to see the works and the issues on site.
With permission recently granted to access the neighbours’ single story flat roof extension Hounslow Homes have been able to all but complete the work to achieve draught free construction in the attic. The photo above shows the white Intello membrane, used as a draught prevention layer, taped to the rafters and sealed with Orcon F mastic to timber battens. Once the elevation has had a cementitious parge coat applied over the pebbledash finish, the draught prevention layer can then be sealed to this parge coat with mastic. This will ensure an entirely draught free construction in this area and throughout the house.
